CELLFOOD® MSM 1oz. spray

This amazing natural sulfur nutrient has finally come into it's own, with the ability to ease the pain and discomfort of many forms of arthritis!

MSM alleviates joint problems even at low dosages, while detoxifying and softening cells and tissues. Side effects? - enhances availability of Vitamin C, maintains collagen health for vibrant - young skin, hair and nails, slows down degeneration of cartilage, adds flexibility to cell walls allowing for better nutrient permeability and more efficient toxic waste removal.

James Coburn, a well-known and loved actor, is probably the most famous of the MSM users. In 1978 he was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, after years of pain and swelling mostly in his wrists. For twenty years he tried several prescriptions and natural therapies, but his condition worsened and spread to other parts of his body, which had almost left him completely debilitated. He was introduced to MSM in 1998. His claim to fame for MSM was his reduced daily pain and inflammation.  After supplementing with MSM he returned to acting, became much more physically active, all because he was virtually 90%  pain free.

Area's that MSM is having a profound effect:

Osteoarthritis - also known as degenerative joint disease, is the most common form of arthritis. Also, it is the number #1 cause of pain by the American Geriatrics Society. The Arthritis Foundation claims 21 million Americans are affected with degenerative arthritis, mostly from age 45.  It is the  #1 cause of disability for people over 65. Unfortunately the common treatment have worse side effects than they do good. Aspirin, acetaminophen, cortisone and NSAID's (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) do not correct, cure or prevent the disease. And their long term use can have detrimental effects on the patient. NSAIDs actually, in long term use, accelerate the arthritis process! MSM reduces pain, reduces inflammation, reduces muscle spasms, lessens formation of scar tissue, improves blood flow, can slow down the degeneration of cartilage, and delivers sulfur to the body. Increased energy is also noted by many people who take MSM, so caution is advised to not over exert oneself. Topical applications of MSM along with oral supplementation has proven to be highly supportive in reducing pain and inflammation.

Back Pain - There are currently an average of 7 million Americans affected with back pain for one reason or another, yearly. For several reasons, from calcium deposits (spurs), arthritis, sprains and ligament tears, misalignments, stress injuries, twisting, etc., an MRI will result in an often misdiagnosed back surgery. Not only are they unnecessary, but most often the results are not very good. MSM, with it's anti-inflammatory properties, has had excellent results in lowering the pain and frequency of pain in many of those suffering with back problems.

Asthma - In the book, "The Miracle of MSM", there is an excellent article with testimonials of many children and adults that have had wonderful success with MSM alleviating their asthmatic attacks, and/or lowering their dosages of anti-inflammatory and steroidal medications while getting the same level of relief as with their previous higher dosages. The key is drinking more water, daily supplementation with MSM, and avoiding irritants such as molds, pollen and dust.

Other area's MSM has had incredible success: Lupus, Interstitial cystitis, allergy therapy, snoring reduced, cancer prevention, constipation relief, colon support, relief from stiffness and inflammation, headache pain relief including migraine headaches, flushes lactic acid buildup quickly, protection from parasite infection, enhances effectiveness of anti-inflammatory drugs resulting in lower dosages. Improves over-all health!

What is MSM?

MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is a natural substance already found in the body and in food. MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is crucial to body function and structure, and is naturally in all living organisms. Sulfur is necessary in the diet for the body to function properly. We have only recently begun to understand and appreciate the importance of sulfur as a trace mineral in maintaining body health and development.   Nutritional MSM is a natural source of organic sulfur. MSM is a stable metabolite of DMSO. The "S" in DMSO is sulfur.

Manufactured MSM is a natural food supplement, and being so, does not require FDA approval. Natural MSM is a safe supplement derived from sea water. Manufactured MSM is made from DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide) a therapeutic agent derived from trees. I like to say, "it's DMSO without the D, since it's been deodorized." DMSO has a garlicky residual in a persons body odor and is usually offensive to most people. Many a time when DMSO could have had a very powerful therapeutic effect in a treatment, it has been refused due to it's pungent aftersmell and taste. MSM is odorless and colorless, unlike DMSO.  Fortunately for us now, MSM has the benefits of DMSO without the negative after effects.

What are its natural sources?

MSM is mostly found in foods such as fruits, vegetables, milk, meat and fish. The levels of MSM available in these foods varies greatly, depending on the level of sulfur available in the soils of the plant sources, and the processing of the foods. Unless consumed immediately, MSM is lost soon after picking, while in storage. MSM is lost during heating, dehydrating and drying, and since it is water soluble it is easily destroyed during most processing of foods. Since our diets have changed greatly in the past 100 years, fresh, raw, unprocessed sources of MSM in our diet suffers greatly. For this reason, we are seeing a need to supplement with MSM to maintain healthy levels of this dietary sulfur.

Veterinarians have used MSM for over fifteen years, and humans have been using MSM over 20 years. DMSO is used the world over for treatment and relief in arthritis, muscle and bone disorders, athletic injuries, sprains, bruising, etc. There have been literally thousands of people using DMSO and MSM safely, and for long terms, for over 20 years.  We can feel very comfortable that the long term effects of treatment or supplementation with MSM is safe for both short term and long term therapies.

What is the role of sulfur and MSM in the body?

bullet

Sulfur is needed for proper development of the structural systems in our bodies.

bullet

Sulfur is important in the metabolism of carbohydrates. Low sulfur levels result in low insulin production. MSM supplementation can improve blood sugar levels, and reduce insulin requirements.

bullet

Sulfur binds to toxins to form a non-toxic compound, neutralizing toxins absorbed by the body.

bullet

Sulfur helps the molecular structure of amino acids by assisting to shape and hold. Sulfur is also a component of the amino acids methionine, cysteine, cystine, and taurine.  They are the sulfur bearing amino acids and form the protein and enzymes found in the body.

bullet

As a trace mineral it completes the link of minerals, trace and major in many body functions where the complete string is necessary for optimum functioning. This is an area of new study and understanding.

bullet

Sulfur is found in the body fluids and tissues. Approximately half of the body's supply is found primarily in the muscles, with the remaining levels in the brain, hair, skin and nails.

bullet

Sulfur aids the growth of cartilage, bone, tendons, nails, hair and skin. Sulfur also combines with other components to facilitate healthy development of connective tissue, and to maintain flexibility and elasticity of tissue. Sulfur is necessary to make collagen, a component of cartilage and connective tissue.

bullet

Sulfur enhances the permeability of the cell membrane. With proper sulfur support, the cell can easily absorb nutrients, while releasing toxins. Since the entire body is composed of cells, sulfur plays a supporting role in the healthy development of cell growth, repair and healing of cell tissue, affecting the entire body.

"Oral liquid or spray is far superior, showing higher concentration with lower more frequent dosages.  Avoidance of gastrointestinal system is preferred when spray or sublingual is available."  This information is supplied by the Nat'l.
